Quilt National ‘17 will be curated by jurors Nancy Crow, Petra Fallaux, and Art Martin. Audiences can expect this year’s 20th biennial Quilt National to be the best yet- with more awards, activities, prizes and the most premiere contemporary quilts in the world. In a recent interview, Dairy Barn Executive Director, Jane Forrest Redfern remarked,
“I am pleased to see increased participation from the “modern” quilt community and the traditional quilters who are pushing the medium. Quilt National encompasses a wide range of styles, and we look forward to having that range reflected in the submissions we receive.”
The Dairy Barn Arts Center is pleased to announce that Quilt National rules have changed to allow artists to post their work on social media sites.
This year, the Dairy Barn has partnered with Fiber Art Now magazine to give all Quilt National ’17 applicants a complimentary membership to the barn, a discounted subscription to Fiber Art Now and a free copy of the ebook: Eco Dye: Traditional Dye Work Through a Contemporary Lens. SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 1
Quilt National ’17 will open to the public May 27, 2017 at the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, OH and run through September 4, 2017. More than 10,000 visitors are expected from all over the world to see Quilt National ‘17.
