Traveling exhibition highlights Korea’s ancient heritage of fiber art and its vibrant modern transformation of both traditional and unexpected techniques and materials. Co-curated by Mirka Knaster and Misik Kim (Seoul). Twenty-five artists, many of them award-winners who exhibit international and are also respected designers and professors in textile arts departments at Korean universities, were tasked with selecting something in their cultural history for inspiration in creating a contemporary art piece. The reception, Friday, October 6, 5-7pm, will include a bojagi demonstration by artist and instructor Youngmin Lee.
