The quilt arena has recently heard that the American Quilter’s Society will cease publishing books next year, the International Machine Quilters Association is folding, and the Quilter’s Newsletter magazine will cease publication.
With all of these changes in the quilt world, Quilt National has taken an even more prominent role in showcasing the world-renowned work that is being created in contemporary quilting today. Quilt National ’17 will open to the public May 27, 2017 at the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio and run through September 4, 2017. More than 10,000 visitors are expected from all over the world to see Quilt National ‘17. Parts of the collection will then travel to museums and galleries throughout the country and world until late 2018.
