More on Tapestry and dyeing for the same – I’m a great fan of Maximo Laura. Also subscribed to Fibreart for ages for its stimulating articles on all Fibre Art.
As to prize – would love the book on Indigo.
An article dedicated to ideas on making wet felted wall hangings (To frame or not to frame is the Question) more wall home friendly.
So many wet felted pieces have naturally uneven edges, posing the question for the artist “Dare I hang it as it is or should I trim it?” What fits in home styles today?
If we leave it natural, how do we make it hang even and flat? Would I dare sew a backing on it, and take away from it’s natural state, or does it need an iron on backing. Just knowing that so many of us struggle with those thoughts will help bound us together.
As a prize? ….Oh, the palm washboard for sure…LOL.
I would like to see articles on Navajo tapestry loom weaving as well as in depth articles on artists using watercolor paper to weave baskets or sculptural pieces.
How about an article on “when and if” we ever place our fiber art under glass? When is it appropriate, and are there any “rules”. An article on the latest and greatest hanging implements. The quilters seem to have a “heads up” on this question. Let’s feature what is new. Oh! and how about featuring some book art. And why haven’t I heard of your magazine before today? I am an SDA, Threads, and Fiberarts (till they stopped publishing) subscriber, but didn’t know about your magazine until a friend alerted me yesterday. Let’s get the word out. I belong to several fiber groups and no one here on the West Coast has heard of your publication, or shared that information. I promise to spread the word. WE NEED YOU!
Of course I choose the gift certificate. Thanks and keep up the good work.
so where are the free articles????
If you click on the link called ‘Free Articles’ at the top of the page, it will go here: http://fiberartnow.net/2013/01/07/complimentary-articles/
Also, check back, as we change them out occasionally. Enjoy!
Perhaps articles on varying methods of dyeing for different fibers or adding fiber onto finished projects … and articles on ways handspun yarns are incorporated into various fiber art projects.. not just the traditional scarves .. but vessels and weavings and nano .. etc… more on fashion throughout the world made with fiber art … and whimsical creatures/dolls.. so many things to spark the imagination!
Thank you for the great suggestions, Carolyn. We’re assembling letters to the editor right now. Can we use yours in the Summer issue?
I love THE magazine, I’m interested in all sorts of fiber art, but especially in wearable art
